the number 2 train was actually built in 1894 in rhode island.It is being reconditioned as a display piece along with the #11 LOCOMOTIVE in saltville as of October of 2009

My info is #2 was built in 1932 by Rhode Island Loco Works div of Alco.  She was built as a 0-4-0T and converted by the Roanoke Shops to a 0-6-0T in 1935.  This info comes from Gary Price, Director of the N&WHS.
