Some new information has come to light on some of Rovos Rail s steam fleet. No. 3442 is still in running order and is one of several locomotives that are still steamed for short trips and special occasions at Capital Park. As Rovos Rail s Capital Park station and depot has a small railway museum.

The 25NC 4-8-2 No. 3442 is still with Rovos Rail but its likely never to work again for them as Rovos Rail uses diesel and electric locomotives on there luxury train trips now. So 3442 may have a uncertain future weather its going to end up with the Transnet heritage foundation is anyones guess?
