The entire New Haven & Lake Erie Railroad had been auctioned off in 2014 and this steam locomotive has not been working since at least 2010.

Local reports indicate that the steam locomotive has not been operational for several years and the small gas or diesel locomotive is being used to power the trains.

Ed Byer operates a one mile loop of narrow gauge track and it is open to the public as the New Haven and Lake Erie RR.  Operating days are sporadic, but as recently as 2002 usually include the same days as the antique farm threshing days held two miles east at Webster and Edgerton Roads, three miles east of New Haven, IN.  Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, Inc. holds its Open House the same days also, and it is along Edgerton Road betweent the other two attractions.  See www.765.org for the dates, and map/directions.  Ed Byer also seems to be open on Labor Day and most fall weekends.
