Merced No. 1, when it was in service, was known by the locals as "Whistling Jimmy" or "Leaping Lena", just in case anyone's interested.

It's still there. Intersection of Hwy 49 and Hwy 132 in Coulterville, CA

This engine has been moved.  It hasn't been at this location since at least 1994.  I was unable to find out where it went.
