4018 is going to be moving to Frisco,TX along with the rest of the museum in the year 2011.

there are several factors that kept this loco from being restored!

where would they run her with her HUGE size, weight, AND curves! afterwards. if they do use her on excursions where woudl they find enough passenger cars to make  along enough train to get enough passengers to make a profit? and what about back up power, etc, etc

 

they still think someone will repair a big boy becuase so many people are so determined to see one run. in fact at least 3 of the remaining 8 big boys left are in SUPERB mechanical shape. the one at Steamtown just needs some minor missining parts! other then that ALL you have to do is get osme Wyoming coal in that firebox and get alot of treated water in her boiler and she will run! go to

This is the Big Boy that there was talk of restoring to use in a movie.  It never happened, but it should have!
