Originally delivered to Sächsische Staatsbahn as No. 194 to Kirchberg; It became DRG No. 99 604 from 1925, through to 1949 with the new DR and carrying the same identity until being re-numbered (prior to unification) to o. 99 1604 though it won’t have lasted long (indeed if ever bearing that number on the cusp of change!) in that identity as it was officially withdrawn in November 1968. In 1970 it was stored by DGEG and in 1989 moved to their store in Bruchhausen-Villen prior to be returned to Sachsen, on display at Radebeul OST.

Loco no.99.604 is of interest as it is one of the only three remaining Saxon Railway 0-4-4-0T Mayers which were not rebuilt by the DR in the 1970s. As a result they were virtually new engines. As such it was never given a DR computerised number. The 99.1604 number is therefore incorrect. Its Saxon Railway number was 194.
