1293 was also in the documentary made by Rail Productions called "Steam in the Summer" as the 5th Segment out of 6 segments. In 2012, 1293 participated in the steam in the valley event at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. She was also seen in the 2nd ohio central segment of Steam in the Autumn. She double headed with 6325 at the end of the second Ohio Central Segment in steam in the autumn.

1293 should be going under her 1472 by the next year or two.

1293 has been running and she is almost ready for the big week at Akron. She ran to Newark with Jerry Jacobson. I got lucky and rode with them in the cab back to Morgan Run. Jerry was in the cab and asked me to drive. It was a great steam expiriance and hope top do it again soon.

#1293 is currently in the shops for final inspections and tests of new parts. Ohio Central says 1293 should be out and running in two to three weeks.

#1293 had ran on the cuyahoga valley line on 9/20/07 and its interesting to know that the railroad wanted to buy the 1293 but Jerry Jocabson wouldn't sell it.

G-5 #1293 was purchased by F. Nelson Blount for the Steamtown USA collection and surprisingly enough pulled the "Vermont Bicentennial Steam Expedition Train"  in 1976. (Long name isn't it?)

In the late 1970's or '80s, it starred in the movie "TERROR TRAIN" as locomotive #1881. The 1293 was sold to the Ohio Central after it was traded as payment for the see-through 0-6-0 display.

Sorry, but you won't see any Ohio Central Steam Locomotives operating in 2005, not one time. I hope that someday the regular Sugarcreek to Baltic excursions will resume, but it doesn't look too good for the year 2006, even.

Was orig. part of Steamtown coll. Moved to Scranton in 1986, used in operation for a while, then became in active. One of 3 CPR G-5 class pacific's in STeamtown coll. It was the only G-5 to aquired by park service. It was then turned over to David Conrad as payment for doing work on #8, the see-through 0-6-0 on display, he sold #1293 to the Ohio Central who restored it to operation.
