There is the rumor that this locomotive will be traded to the RRofPA for some freight equipment. There is really no need for this locomotive, 2-6-2 No.4 was acquired recently and will be rebuilt and a third diesel will be coming online soon, and in addition to that there is the regular No.65. At present there are 3 steam locomotives and 3 diesels on the line!!! The line is only 4.2 miles long.

This locomotive is not operational and is in rough shape last time I saw a pic of her. I heard WK&S is looking for similar locomotives similar to 65, their 0-6-0 Porter saddle tanker which is the main workhorse on the line. I also heard that the WK&S doesn't want to restore her because she is to small for their operations and the work needed to bring her back was not worth it for an engine of her size.

No. 2 is not in Geigertown. She is still owned by the WK&S and is still sitting on the storage siding in Kempton, Pa., awaiting the day when she will return to service. She is currently the railroad's back-up engine. Should #65 ever go down for repairs, then #2 would be likely to operate. She last filled in for 65 during the 2002 season.

Number 2 is no longer in service- said to be sidelined with a firebox/boiler problem. Thank god this RR is not persuant to FRA Title 49 Part 230!
