2102 has been steaming up some trips recently. Trains Mag announced that 425 and 2102 will double-head august 13th. 425 has actually not gone down yet. It operated in 2022 on July 8th and 9th.

R&N 2102 is now officially fully operational! It has made its first test run just yesterday April 6, 2022. It was pulling a flatcar, a passenger coach with a few people, and a caboose.

The former Reading Railroad Class T1 4-8-4 No. 2102 is set to make a come back onto the mainline of the Reading & Northern Railroad for the first time in 30 years. As the locomotive is expected to lead a series of “Iron Horse Rambles” excursion trains on the Reading & Northern this year which will be a revival of the popular series of steam trips in the early the locomotive did in the 1960s.

The former Reading Railroad Class T1 4-8-4 No. 2102 was steamed for the very first time in 30 years since 1991 for its official steam test as its restoration to operational condition is now in its final stages.

2102 has been located in Port Clinton PA at the Reading & Northern headquarters for many years now.

In the video I noticed 2102 was hauling a coal train. Was this something she did often or was she filling in for a diesel?

I TALKED TO ANDREW MULLER AND HE SAID THAT 2102 MIGHT NEVER BE RESTORED TO OPERATION BECAUSE OF THE COST AND HOW MUCH WORK HAS TO BE DONE & THE FRA SAID THAT HE WOULD HAFT TO DO A 15 YEAR OVER HAUL AND THAT WOULD COST TO MUCH $$$ BUT HE APPLIED FOR A GRANT FROM THE STATE IN JUNE OF 2007 BUT AS OF YET NO GO.

in 1967 the 2102 has once was own by the citizins of Akron,Ohio. in that time 2102 a few excursions over Akron Caton & Youngstone railroad to Akron and Spencer Ohio.

I visited the Reading and Nothern headquarters in Port Clinton, PA on Aug. 3, 2005 and 2102 was on an outside storage track at the east side of the property.

The 2102 is now on display in Jim Thorpe, PA in front of the old CNJ station.  The locomotive has not been fired since 1994.

The 2102 is stored in the engine house at the RBMN base of operations in Port Clinton PA.

According to the VP of Traffic of the Reading and Northern, the 2102 is stored in the enginehouse at Port Clinton, PA.
