The classic Great Western front end from the Churchward era. His more modern designs laid the foundations of GWR, LMS and BR locomotive design. Here are the big outside cylinders with a big motion plate which also supports the boiler. At the very front are the supports for the front extension frame, bracing it to the smokebox as in contemporary American practice.

The cab interior is standard Great Western. Prominent on the right is the reverser, and the sight feed lubricator. The red painted regulator and vacuum brakes are next. Notice that there is only a single water gauge - standard GWR practice.
