Bockwaer Grubenbahn 2-4-0T No. 'Muldenthal'Posted by: Achim on Oct 16, 2023 @ 09:10:10
The locomotive was operated as a coal railway locomotive by the Bockwaer Eisenbahngesellschaft from 1861. During the German War in 1866, the Prussians confiscated the MULDENTHAL as supposed state property for their own purposes, but soon returned it to its owner. The locomotive was in constant use (with only a few downtimes due to the war). After the end of WWII it was in operation as a works locomotive on the Zwickau coal railways until 1952. Then secured as a museum locomotive. Exhibited in the Transport Museum in Dresden. 51.052153° 13.739476°

The locomotive was operational until 2012 on the Rail-Rebecq-Rognon museum railway. In May 2012 the locomotive was sold to the Belgian zoo Pairi Daiza, Domaine de Cambron - B-7940 Brugelette, where the locomotive had to be parked after a short period of use due to boiler damage. In 2014 the locomotive was brought to the UK to the North Norfolk Railway where a general inspection was carried out. As part of the work, the locomotive received a new boiler and the running gear was completed again with the third axle. In July 2016, the locomotive returned to the Belgian Pairi Daiza animal park after being refurbished and is in use on the park railway. 50.5851205 3.8812293

CFR 4-6-0 No. 230.163Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Oct 15, 2023 @ 12:10:08
As ILFORD reported earlier, the correct identity of this locomotive, borne out also by Achim, is CFR No.230 163 but bears this number on only one cab side; the other side bears No. 230.128 (this locomotive apparently long since scrapped). Accordingly the build identity also needs resfresing.
