The museum locomotive has been operational in good condition since 2022

Builder is Ansaldo 1252 in 1922.

Restored, back on pressure the 23-8-2019, and move again on rail in October 2019

What an excellent photo of this Italian classic. It shows the leading Zara truck arrangement with the leading drivers and the front carrying wheels in a truck to give something of the effect of a 4 wheel leading truck. In Italy it is the 'Carello Italiano'.

It also shows well the outside valve chest and Walschearts valve gear on an inside cylinder loco - a feature not found very often but common on Italian 2-6-0s.
