Dale W Fickés writes:

This locomotive was delivered to the BBÖ from Weiner Neustadt as No.498.30 and ran in this identity 1938, whence it became, successively, DRB No.92 2330 (1938 - 1945); ÖStB (1945 - 1953) and ÖBB (1953 - 1955) whereupon it ran for the latter as No.392.2530 before being sold, in 1966, to coal mine operator Wolfsegg-Trauntaler Kohlegesellschaft (WTK), and became their No.4. It was purchased by the ÖGEG from here in 1994 and has recently been restored in a green livery with this latter identity.

Overhaul has been completed in October 2009 and loco has been introduced to public in green-blck-red livery and as no. 4 as it ran on the coal railway (WTK) after it had been taken over from OeBB in 1966. The WTK coal railway is now operated as a heritage railway by the Austrain Society for Railway History (Oegeg)

The loco 392.2530 (ex BBÖ 478.30) is currently being restored to working order at Ampflwang (near Voecklabruck) and will be outshopped as WTK "4" in black, green & red livery (WTK = Wolfsegg-Trauntaler Kohlegesellschaft = coal mine where the loco was in service from 1966 - 1984, when it was sold to the Oegeg).
