I visited this engine while up there, and they had the cab, and various other pieces off of it and already moved to the restoration site. Also, since I left Maine, the entire locomotive was moved from the pedestal and moved to the Downeast Scenic Railroad.

There are various rumors about the 470 as it was stranded for over 60 years of doing nothing, but rusting out, looking like it is heading to be scrapped. Hopefully, the locomotive would operate at the downeast scenic railroad in Ellsworth,ME or pull special steam excursions on various Norfolk southern and Pan Am tracks.

This is engine will in fact be restored in the future. You should probably change the status to "restoration".

This engine seems to be in great condition with some new paint. Maybe someone will get her running again.
