The former South Australian Railways 1915 built Rx Class 4-6-0 Rx224 will be hauling its first passenger trains at SteamRanger Heritage Railways for the first time in over 30 years over the 2021 summer season.

The ex South Australian Railways 1915 built Rx Class 4-6-0 Rx224 was steamed again and moved under her own steam for the first time in 30 years. The locomotive will soon begin testing before entering service with SteamRanger Heritage Railways in 2021.

The former South Australian Railways 1915 built Rx Class 4-6-0 Rx224 was steamed for the first time in 30 years for its official steam test at Mt Barker Depot on the 16th of October 2020. Which marks a milestone in the restoration of the locomotive and will enter service at SteamRanger Heritage Railways in 2021.

Rx224 was built by Walkers, Australia. In service 1915. Ended her days running steam specials. StreamRanger took over management of this loco first working from their Dry Creek base and later moving to Mount Barker. At present this loco is undergoing a complete overhaul.
