It has been announced by its owners Locomotive Services Ltd. that ex GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" will be relocating to the One:One Collection (Locomotive Storage Ltd.) at Margate in Kent for display and undercover storage for 18 months. The future of No. 6960 will be considered when there is time for a full inspection on the locomotive.

Having hauled its finel trains at the Severn Valley Railway in early July the ex GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" has now been withdrawn from service having come to the end of her 10 year boiler ticket.

It turns out that ex GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" is still in service and is in its last year of service as the locomotive is to appear in steam at the Severn Valley Railway’s Spring Steam Up event from the 15th to 18th of April 2021.

The former GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" has been withdrawn from service having come to the end of its boiler ticket. The locomotive awaits what will happen to it next as its owners Locomotive Services Ltd. have said No. 6960 is expected to be dormant for a while.

No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" will be staying at the Severn Valley Railway until the end of her boiler ticket in 2021. The locomotive has been popular with visitors at the Severn Valley Railway where it will remain.

No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" is to relocate to the Severn Valley Railway. But this is just temporary as the West Somerset Railway needs some heavy track work to be carried out before any GWR Halls can run along it again.

The locomotive was built in March 1944 at Swindon Works. It was withdrawn by BR in June 1964 and sold to Woodham Brothers scrapyard in Barry. It left there in October 1972, was restored by 1975 and ran in preservation on the Severn Valley Railway until 1996. Major overhaul to operational condition completed in November 2011 at the West Somerset Railway, where it is currently based.
