Even though it has donated its boiler and some other key components for new-build projects, the ex GWR 5205 Class 2-8-0T No. 5227, is not going to be broken up as it has been bought by Andrew Cole as a long term resotation project and is now back at Didcot Railway Centre in Bershire, where it is currently having some cosmetic work being carried out.

I guess that means at some point I will have to change its status to permanently dismantled or perhaps scrapped. I'll wait until the time comes. Another one bites the dust.

Part of the Barry 10 group of locos bought for a propsal for a Welsh Railway Centre which never got going.

Latest plans are for this one to go to the Great Western Society at Didcot where it may be displayed as a scrapyard hulk to illustrate what many of the Didcot engines were like before restoration. At some future time parts could be used to recreate a class 3800 4-4-0, a lost class of engine.

In store in ex scrapyard condition at the former steam shed at Barry. One of the 'Barry Ten' stored locos from the failed attempt to establish a South Wales railway musem. The ten is now reduced to seven locos, so perhaps it is part of the 'Barry Seven'?
