The BR built ex LMS Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T No. 41241, is heading to Wales for the very first time to visit the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway as their second visiting locomotive for their Annual Steam Gala from the 13th to 15th of September 2024.

The BR built ex LMS Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T No. 41241 will be visiting Didcot Railway Centre along with sister No. 41312 from the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) for their Autumn Steam Gala which will be a 2-6-2T themed event on the 20th to 22nd of October 2024.

No. 41241 is visiting the North Norfolk Railway for their spring steam gala on 1st-3rd April 2022.This be 41241s first visit to another heritage railway since her latest overhaul.

After a 4 year overhaul LMS Ivatt 2MT Tank No. 41241 was successfully steamed and tested today. There are a few jobs that still need finishing like painting but the locomotive in now completed and will be launched back in to traffic at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway s 50th anniversary gala in June.

No. 41241 s boiler has passed its steam tests at the Severn Valley Railway s boiler shop. It will return to the locomotive at Haworh where No. 41241 will have a big part to play in the 50th Anniversary of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in 2018. As No. 41241 had hauled the first preservation train along the line in June 1968.
