No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" has now arrived at her new home at the Spa Valley Railway at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent
to take up permanent residence at the railway which will now be a South East base for Southern Locomotives Ltd.

It has been announced that a partnership has been formed between the Spa Valley Railway & Southern Locomotives Limited. This partnership means that Southern Locomotives Limited now has a permanent home in the South East of the UK as well as in the South West of the UK. As a result of this partnership No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" will now take up permanent residence at the Spa Valley Railway at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent as the first tender locomotive to be based at the railway and become part of the Spa Valley Railway’s home fleet of locomotives. No. 34053 will arrive at the railway from Mid-August 2020.

It has been announced that No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" will be moved to the Spa Valley Railway at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent for use and undercover storage during the Winter following completion of her intermediate overhaul at Tyseley Locomotive Works. Which this will make 34053 the first express steam passenger locomotive to visit the Spa Valley line in preservation.

After bottom end repairs are completed, 34053 will by staying at Tyseley Locomotive Works to take part in their open weekend on 29th and 30th September, after which she will return to Swanage.

No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" has been moved to Tyseley Locomotive Works for examination and repairs to its axle boxes over the winter.

No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" has returned to traffic at the Swanage Railway following 4 months repairs carried out to its axleboxes, motion and more.

No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" has had to be withdrawn from service for some repairs to a loose or cracked crown on one of the driving wheel axleboxes. But the repairs will hopefully be swift and the rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific could be back in traffic at the Swanage Railway at the end of July or early August?

Having worked its final trains at the Severn Valley Railway over the festive season. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" has now left and relocated to the Swanage Railway in Dorset to join the rest of Southern Locomotives Ltd home fleet of Bulleid pacifics on a permanent basis.

From early next year in 2018 34053 "Sir Keith Park" will be moving to the Swanage Railway to be part of there home fleet on a permanent basis. Also it will be more closer to Southern Locomotives Ltd base at Herston there.

34053 "Sir Keith Park" will also be visiting the Great Central Railway for there Southern Autumn Steam Gala as well. Which this will be the second visit of 34053 to the GCR.

34053 Sir Keith Park will be having a busy season this year as part of the 50th anniversary of the end of Southern steam. The locomotive will be visiting the Nene Valley Railway in February for there Bulleid 50 Gala with 34081 and in the summer 34053 will be visit both the Swanage Railway and the Mid Hants Railway for End of Southern Steam Galas as 2017 will be the year for Bulleid pacifics in preservation.

On 9th May, 2012 Sir Keith Park left the Swanage Railway works at Herston and was transferred to the Severn Valley Railway. Restoration is complete, and 34053 will undergo final tests at the Bridgnorth MPD prior to entering service for the first time on a heritage railway since she was withdrawn by BR.

Since Doug added his note, there has been a change of mind by the owners, Southern Locomotives Ltd. Restoration of the loco is proceeding and most parts are available to complete the job.

According to the Preserved UK Railway Locomotive Database No. 34053 has been used as a source of parts for the restoration of other locomotives.
