The overhaul to former Staveley Coal & Iron Co. Bagnall built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2670 "Lamport No. 3" is progressing to its final stages at the East Anglian Railway Museum as its brand new inner firebox has arrived for fitment and repairs to the bunker, cab and tyres are progresseing and new brake shoes have already fitted and the rolling chassis is complete. The axleboxes, connecting rods, coupling rods, and valve gear were overhauled at Chappel, entirely by volunteers and some work to the lubrication system for the axleboxes was improved, plus mechanical oil pumps were overhauled. The new firebox will be sent to the North Norfolk Railway to be reunited with the boiler which is under overhaul by North Norfolk Engineering at Weybourne. It is hoped that "Lamport No. 3" will be in steam again by 2025.
