The ex LMS ‘Stanier Mogul’ 2-6-0 No. 13268, is now back in service at the Severn Valley Railway following its winter maintenance which has seen the replacing of the hopper-type ashpan with a rake out type. Its owners the Stanier Mogul Fund says that the hopper one was problematic due to warping, which was caused by excess heat from the hot ash and this caused it to jam. For its upcoming part in the Greatest Gathering at Derby from the 1st to 3rd of August 2025, the locomotive will be moved to Derby via the mainline with a diesel hauling it there in late July 2025.
