The Vulcan Foundry built 0-4-0ST "Vulcan" has returned back home to Barrow Hill Roundhouse for steamings there or to be hired out else where.

Vulcan has gone on loan to Beamish Open Air Museum for use at there Rowley station site.

This little saddle tank loco is hardly typical of Vulcan Foundry output. They generally built much larger locos for main line use in the UK and for export. A good example of the export output is on display in the Railway Museum at York.
This little engine was built by them and was kept as the works shunter, moving all sorts of impressive machinery around the works before preservation.
