With the locomotive now in the final stages of its overhaul as its boiler has been refitted to the mainframes its been decided by Didcot that ex Linby Colliery Hunslet built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2409 "King George" will remain as it is as a saddle tank locomotive as the plans to have it rebuilt as Thomas the Tank Engine have now been abandoned. Once the overhaul is completed the locomotive will be made available for hire to other preserved railways around the UK.

Now sold and moved to Didcot, where it will be converted into a 'Thomas' character loco. The original parts that will have to be removed for this conversion will be stored so that it can return to its original appearance at a later date if required.
