I was on a vacation to Maine a little over a month ago, and I got to ride behind this locomotive while I was up there. It is a real work of art. That railroad is a place that really has their stuff together. They actually run their regular trains faster than the tourist railroad I work for, the Allentown and Auburn does, and that is a full standard gauge Railroad that does not even have a steam locomotive yet! WW&F also has a fully operating replica of an early Mack, or something like that Railbus with open sides that one person built entirely from scratch, and they are also currently trying to have two new boilers fabricated. One is for the #10, and the other is for a replica of the WW&F #7 that they supposedly are trying to build. They really have a lot of money for a tourist railroad, and can afford to do stuff.

The new boiler for #9 has arrived last summer & will be in place this spring. The work has been done at The Boothbay Railway Village in Boothbay,Maine. The current work is rebuilding the wheel frame inside The WW&F shops in Alna. It's expected to return to steam this summer or fall.

The locomotive's railroad & number is "WW&F RR #9". It was formerly SR&RL #6. Emtpy weight is 18 tons. I have to get driver & cylinder diameter and figure out tractive effort. Boiler pressure will be determined when we put a new boiler on her. James Patten WW&F Railway Museum
