This locomotive is in fact housed inside a static display, completely repainted. The only drawback is the lighting in the room keeps most of the unit and accompanying tender in shadow.

302 was taken out of service in 1954. my grandfather worked in the ga. rr augusta roundhouse and took me to see this loco at age 6. i remember sitting in the cab in his lap as he explained that steam was going away.

This locomotive, for some time now, has been indoors at the August history museum.
