The Walt Disney World Railroad engines now actually burn veggie oil- I was told this by a "cast member" when I took their backstage tour of the railroad.

Most United of Yucatan engines were built as wood burners and converted to oil firing in the late 50s by the UdeY shops. Some of UdeY's later locomotives were built as oil burners. In those days they would have burned a very heavy oil called "Bunker C." Today diesel is far more available and cleaner burning for a locomotive running in a park.

The fuel for all Disneyworld locomotives is actually diesel fuel.  This does not mean they've been motorized, it means they burn diesel fuel the way they used to burn coal.
