Wilmington & Western is shut down due to inner turmoil. They are wanting to make changes to the operation, and as part of this, they are talking of ridding themselves of engine 58, and making this one operable again.

#92 has been out of service since the 1970's. it was taken out of service just as #98 was entering service. The Railroad would like to resore 92 and has placed her in the shop a couple of times for evaluation and some minor work. #92 is W&W's first operating Locomotive being purchased in 1958 by founders Clarence and Tom Marshall. Restored to service on a siding at the Snuff Mills in Yorklyn over a 5 year period, it began pulling trains up the Red Clay Valley in 1966. She continued to operate day in and day out untill she was sidelined in 1972 with firebox problems.  Cost for restoration exceeds the railroads current capabilities but they have established a fund for the work and are accepting donations.
