Railroad Museum Of New England has just announced plans to restore this locomotive back to working order for the first time since she last ran in 1975.

Locomotive is displayed with a freight train on a siding at the railroad station at Essex, CT.  It is not being maintained and its condition is deteriorating.

In the late 1970,s I was vacationing in northern New Jersey. A friend of mine who knew I had an interest in railroads, gave me a boiler-plate his father had found in a land fill. The plate says Baldwin Locomotive Works, #103. Could this be part of this unit?

2-6-2 45 tons BLW stock light logging 2-6-2.

 

Sold 1961 to Empire State Rwy. Museum, Middletown, NY. Operated 1961-1966 on Middletown & New Jersey at Middletown, NY.  Moved 1970 to Essex, CT Valley Railroad. Operated on VRR 1971-1975. Ownership transferred to Railroad Museum of New England, 1985.  On display at VRR, Essex.
