The former Victorian Railways Narrow Gauge Beyer Peacock built 2-6-0+0-6-2 Garratt G42 has been withdrawn from service and has now been placed on static display in the Puffing Billy Railway’s Museum at Menzies Creek for now until it can be overhauled again.

VR G42 Victoria State railway only had 2 Garratt's. G41 & G42 for working line around Moe & Colac. They eliminated the need for Na class double heading. When restored it ran often on Puffing Billy trains, but due to extra cost compared to Na tanks it now works dining train at weekends only.

Australian Portland Cement has had two similar Garratts. Their No1 loco boiler was used in the restoration of G42. The old boiler off G42 is mostly likely to be put on display.
