Here are some technical details on the China Rail YJ Class 2-6-2 locomotives like YJ 269. The YJ Class 2-6-2 Cylinders, Diameter/Stroke is at 530 mm x 710 mm and can go up to 482 mm x 660 mm (YJ 201-250) or 500 mm x 710 mm (YJ 251 and so) and their Driving Wheel Diameter is 1370 mm with Tractive Effort at 14,000 kg. YJ in Chinese is short for Yue Jin (Leap Forward) which 202 were built from 1958 to 1961 at locomotives works across China at Tangshan with 80 built (YJ 101-180), Jinan with 117 (YJ 201-317), Mudanjiang with 3 (YJ ???), and Wuchang works with only 2 built. The YJ 2-6-2 was mainly used in Industrial use as well as shunting yards on China Rail. Only two have survived, YJ 232 is on display at Baotou Steelworks and this one YJ 269 which was built at Jinan Works in 1960 and had worked at Xuanhua steelworks. YJ 269 was acquired as a preserved locomotive for use on the Tiefa Coal Mine System in the early 2000s.
