CPR 136 is out of service because she's getting a new boiler. Tenwheeler 1057 is now the regular engine on the South Simcoe Railway.

The "Alco-Rogers Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 3327, 3329 through 3334; Road Numbers 136 through 142, were shipped to "Canadian Pacific" during August of 1883. All of the units were 4-4-0's with 62" diameter Drivers.

At the time of 136's retirement from regular service in 1960, she was the oldest, continuously operating locomotive in North America, being 77 years old. She spent the latter part of her working life on the Hillsboro Sub in New Brunswick where it was cheaper to maintain this ancient piece of locomotion than it was to replace a bridge that had light axle load restrictions.
