C601, ex-C5927, is the sole surviving example of Class C60, a group of 47 class C59 4-6-2s that were given four-wheel trailing trucks in order to lighten their axle load from 16.2 to 14.8 tons in order to allow their use in less robustly laid rail. This locomotive is also one of only two examples of pre-war C59s, the other being C591 in Fukuoka. The locomotive recently received a cosmetic restoration, and a roof was placed over it in 2015.
