Though reported as Kitson 5162, which corresponds with the number 804 it carries, this loco is actually North British 22509. I read of this identity issue elsewhere and checked the loco on a 2015 visit. It carries NB works plates, a NB plate above the fire hole door with its boiler test details and five digit numbers can be seen, though not clearly because of paint, stamped all over the chassis. This would make it number 810 and the outline of this number can be seen in the paintwork on one of the cabsides.
