The town of Breckenridge recently voted to sell #111 to the Colorado Historical Society, for restoration to operation on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. The CHS agreed to a long-term loan of C&S #9 to the town of Breckenridge, in exchange for the sale of #111 to the CHS. This is fantastic news for the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Hopefully, powerful steam will return, on a long-term basis, to the GLRR in 2011!

Ex-IRCA #111 is currently at Uhrich Locomotive Works in Strasburg, Colorado, at the beginning of what should be a full restoration. The Colorado Historical Society plans to use #111 on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Publically, the CHS states the engine will be on the GLR by 2007, but more realistic is 2008 or later.
