This locomotive came from the Michigan-California Lumber Company in Camino Ca, about 10 miles from Placerville in El Dorado County. It served in the woods and at the mill as a switch engine. The Mich Cal had two 0-4-0's, the other is located at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds and is being evaluated for restoration. Mich Cal did not use the 0-4-0's much after 1910 when the shays began to appear. The El Dorado Western Railway Foundation is working to restore Diamond & Caldor #4 and would like to aquire Mich Cal #11 for its collection.

Ummm... does anyone know anything about the railroad this engine was originally from? Because I haven't heard of this one.

This engine was moved to the Timber Products company in Medford OR in July 1994. I sent image of it on display there.
