This loco was the first standard 4-8-2 tank loco built by the North British Locomotive Company. It came to the South African Railway & Steam Museum in May 1992.

It was one of 27 locomotives were stored on sidings at Chamdor when a large scale attack by armed scrap thieves took place in 2010. It was so badly damaged that there was no alternative but to sell the remains for scrap.
