This locomotive was hauled up Table Mountain in pieces via an aerial cableway and re-assembled to operate on a line laid from the cableway to various stone quarries and the construction site of the Hely Hutchinson storage dam which is still part of Cape Towns water supply system. The trackbed andd the cableway remains are still easily found and the loco sits in a small stone building, along with other artifacts from the time. The building was built around the loco after it had stood abandoned for many years, however its remote location had left it in very complete condition with items such as brass makers plates still in situ. The original owners were the City of Cape Town Corporation Waterworks Department, and today - under Cape Town City Council name - they are still the owners.
