A sad tale for such an old locomotive.

This engine may never even be put back together. It was owned by a private owner, whom has since passed, and the title for the engine has been lost. Also, many of the parts have rotted away to the elements, and as such will have to be re-made.

the video is of the Torch Lake at Greenfield Village, not this locomotive.

There are no plans at present to restore this locomotive. Original plans, circa 1980 and prior, were to restore the locomotive to operation to supplement the 4-6-0 (#152). Plans were faded out when the 2-8-2 (#464) was acquired in the early 1980s.

i went to the railfan weekend last year and was told this engine is in line to be restored to operation. The RR was just looking for the money. i was also told that #2 and #3 both looked worse when they got them, and they are back ; so there is hope.
