Robin R Beck reports: "When converted to a museum, everything was left in the condition found. Presume this was being overhauled."

A good example of a British export product. Take off the bell and you'd have a UK 2-6-0 EXCEPT that one with outside Walschaerts motion like this wouldn't appear for more than 10 years from the main line companies. OK, the Great Western, ahead as usual, had built its 4300 class moguls from 1911, but they, like nearly all GWR locos, retained inside valve gear. The usual UK power remained the 0-6-0.
