in 2007, the last car on a train coming from Palestine was accidentally switched onto the track no. 300 was on, causing quite a bit of damage

Engine #300 will proudly make her Refurbishing "Debut" at Railfest, September 5th, 2009, in Palestine, Texas. This event is open to the public and information is on the website at TexasStateRR.com

As of at least January, the Texas State Railroad #300 is no longer in service. She is currently down for a 1472 Day Inspection as mandated. Currently, the only steam locomotive pulling trains there is none other then #201.

Currently this is the only opperating steam engine on the Texas State Rwy.
