As of 10/25/2007, Not much statuswise has changed. It has moved deeper into the "storage yard" and continues to rust away.

The locomotive is priovately owned and leased to the SC RR Museum. This engine is considered to be beyond economical repair to operation. It was never liked much by the Rockton & Rion because it was slippery, hard on the track, and rode badly. Consequently it was always their back-up engine. SCRM is currently (10/03) removing the asbestos lagging from the engine and will be giving it a basic cosmetic restoration for static display.
