Work is progressing on this large freight tank engine. This class was rebuilt from the 4200 class of 2-8-0T locos to extend their range by increasing the coal capacity in a larger bunker, supported by the trailing radial truck. A rare example of a British 2-8-2 wheel arrangement.

Before purchase for preservation the loco was sent for scrap to Woodham's yard, Barry Dock. Photo from 23rd March 1968
