A typical Great Western Railway cab, somewhat Spartan by the standards of some British railway companies, but the GWR 'Hall' class was up to the mark on performance.

The driving wheels of this 'Hall' class loco. A most versatile, useful two cylinder loco, at home on all types of work except top line expresses and slow, heavy freight. But if the occasion required it they'd step up to the job, whatever it was!

Before purchase for preservation the loco was sent for scrap to Woodham's yard, Barry Dock. Photo from 23rd March 1968
