2999 'Lady of Legend' on show at the Great Western Society's Diamond Jubilee Gala in the summer of 2021. The work to re-create this lost class of loco using some components from Hall class 'Maindy Hall' shows what the earliest Great Western 4-6-0 class looked like. This was a very influential design on British locomotive development.

Running tender first on a visit to the Severn Valley Railway on 23rd April 2022. Notice the uncapacious Great Western cab design. The 'Hall' class, of which 4942 'Maindy Hall was a member, was developed from the 'Saint' class had a larger side window cab.

'Lady of Legend' at the Bluebell Railway's 'Giants of Steam' gala from 19th October 2025. The gala brought together this loco and three other new build locos, 'Tornado', Betton Grange' and 'Beachy Head'. Back in the early days of railway preservation, who would have ever imagined that this would be possible?
