Nicely presents in National Coal Board lined black, the loco shows a Giesl ejector exhaust, a feature the Coal Board used on quite a number of locos in the search for fuel economy. British Railways tried the device but never adopted it.

To be permitted to travel on British Railways lines for short distances, industrial locos could be registered with the Railway Executive, and would carry a plate like this.
