A shot at Carnforth from 1985 showing No 20's boiler. The chalked note states that it was from Furness Railway No 18, which is the number that it was erroneously thought the loco had carried in service. A new boiler was built to replace this one.

As part of the 175 anniversary of the Furness Railway No. 20 visited the Dock Museum in Barrow in Furness where it was on display. This photograph was taken whilst the loco was at a waste management site before the event. This event was something of a homecoming for the engine.

Whilst the loco was at a waste management site before the event at Barrow Dock Museum, Robin R Beck took some detail photos which show the construction methods from the 1860s. Here we see between the frames looking at the driving axle with the eccentrics for the valves in the middle of the axle and the left hand connecting rod towards the right of the photo

On display at 'The Greatest Gathering' held at the Derby works of Alstom over three days from 1st to the 3rd August 2025. The event marked 200 years of the modern railway from the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825 right up o the present day. The display included historic and famous locomotives, steam, diesel and electric.
