Now in its new blue livery, 'Talyllyn' is at the head of a train running back down the valley towards Tywyn. 91th September 2025.

At Tywyn on 19th September 2025. The right hand side showing the usual arrangement of cylinder, connecting rod and coupling rod. But notice the concessions to modern requirements - a mechanical lubricator and an air brake pump. As originally built there were no such fripperies!

The brake pressure gauge. The red right hand needle shows the main air reservoir pressure and the black left hand needle shows the train brake pressure. Made by Westinghouse, although the lettering is partly worn away with age.

The result on a failure on the loco back in April 2014 which resulted in the right hand coupling rod breaking as well as bending the connecting rod with damage to the cylinder and piston.
