Photographed at North Weald station on the Epping Ongar Railway in company with Metropolitan Railway No.1 - an unusual combination by any standard.

The railway was part of the Great Eastern Railway but became part of London Underground system in 1949, having previously been electrified for central Line tube trains. Ongar was the Zero point for distances measured on the Underground system. It closed between Epping and Ongar in 1994.

A USATC loco was a first for the Epping - Ongar line as was Great Western 813 - neither type using the line in pre preservation days.
