One of the two surviving Fairburn 2-6-4 tank locomotives departs from Haverthwaite with a train for Lakeside.

The builder's plate. Notice that, although this is an LMS design loco, it was built at the former LB&SCR and Southern Railway works at Brighton. The date explains it - a post nationalisation date.

Photographed at Carnforth depot on 6th July 1969, the loco had been painted in London & North Western Railway livery, which it could not have carried in its working career. There was a fad at this time for painting locos in liveries that were unauthentic.
