The Adams 4-4-2 tank loco is a glorious example of the classic Victorian suburban tank loco. Three of the class outlived their sisters by decades as the only type of loco that could operate the sharply curving Lyme Regis branch line. The last survivor rests at Sheffield Park on 3rs June 1968.

Those classic Victorian proportions are well shown in this photo from the summer of 1976. Sadly, the loco is unlikely to run again as it needs a new boiler.

Wearing British Railways late lined passenger black livery the loco is seen displayed alongside South Eastern & Chatham 0-6-0 No. 592.
